1 yd = 3 ft
10 yd = 10 * 1 yd
10 * 1 yd = 10 * 3 ft
10 yd = 30 ft
The 10-yard piece is 30 ft long.
Then you add to it the 5-foot long piece.
30 ft + 5 ft = 35 ft
Answer: He has 35 ft of wood.
