Explanation:

the first line (x = 14, y = 21) suggests that the proportion or ratio between the 2 values is 3/2.

you can see that by writing it as a fraction : 21/14

now, we can simplify this by dividing top and bottom by 7 and get 3/2.

so,

y = 3x/2.

so, for a) we can say

39 = 3x/2

78 = 3x

x = 26

for b) we can say

y = 3×64/2 = 3×32 = 96

for c) we can say

y = 3×1/2 = 3/2
