The central aim of the communists was to reconstruct a society so that there would be a complete freedom in developing and exercising all of his powers and capabilities as a member of the society.
This can only be achieved by abolishing private ownership and replacing it with more or less community-based ownership of properties or more specifically government-based ownership of properties.
