Leo takes 30 minutes to eat dinner, 50 minutes to change clothes, in 20 minutes to walk to practice. If Leo needs to be at hockey practice at 7:15 p.m., what time does he need to begin?

well, in time, 60 minutes is an hour. So first, you would have to add all the numbers together and if it helps, split them into tens because they are basically numbers. So this is what it should look like....

10

group that into 60's.....

you end up with 1 hour and 40 minutes. Quite simple once you understand the concept of time. Then subtract 1 hour and 40 minutes by 7:15 and you get 5:35.

Answer: 5:35pm/am

30+50+20=100 minutes. An hour is 60 minutes so 100-60=40 so it will take an hour and 40 minutes so count backwards from 7:15. 7:15 minus an hour is 6:15 then minus another 40 minutes is 5:35.
