Given that cos 42° ~0.743 what is the sine of the complementary angle

check the picture below, notice that is just an example relating the cosine and sine values in a right-triangle of the complementary angles.

so if the cos(42°) is "whatever", the sin(90° - 42°) is then, well, you know already.
Given that cos 42° ~0.743 what is the sine of the complementary angle-example-1
