write the equation of the line that passes throughout (-1,5) and has a slope of 3 in point-slope form

The point-slope form is:

y - k = m(x-h)

So, here, you just plug in values:

y - 5 = 3(x+1)

It would be + 1 because remember, the '-' sign just means the opposite of, not subtraction in this case. Also, m = slope.
