Solve for x:
25 x - 6 = 5 x + 24

Subtract 5 x from both sides:
(25 x - 5 x) - 6 = (5 x - 5 x) + 24

25 x - 5 x = 20 x:
20 x - 6 = (5 x - 5 x) + 24

5 x - 5 x = 0:
20 x - 6 = 24

Add 6 to both sides:
20 x + (6 - 6) = 6 + 24

6 - 6 = 0:
20 x = 24 + 6

24 + 6 = 30:
20 x = 30

Divide both sides of 20 x = 30 by 20:
(20 x)/20 = 30/20

20/20 = 1:
x = 30/20

The gcd of 30 and 20 is 10, so 30/20 = (10×3)/(10×2) = 10/10×3/2 = 3/2:

Answer: x = 3/2

25x - 6 = 24 + 5x
First we collect terms
20x = 30
Now we divide by 20
x = 30/20
x = 1.5
