Bone resorption inhibiting drug. This drug inhibits bone resorption  by decreasing the enzyme that causes bone cell breakdown. This will help in the formation of bone and the deposition of calcium. Typically this drugs are called bisphosphonates and used in osteoporosis. Stomach pain, diarrhea and constipation can be noted as side effects of the drugs. Precautions must be made if the patient is allergic to the drug or if there are history of difficulty in swallowing, hypocalcemia and intestinal disorder.
