The sales of a particular brand of children’s athletic shoes rose from $4,600,000 to $5,300,000. Find the percent of increase in sales. Round to the nearest tenth of a percent if necessary.

To find the percentage increase:
increase = new price - original price
= 5300000 - 4600000
= 700000

% Increase =
(increase)/(original price) x 100
=
(700000)/(4600000) x 100
=
15 (5)/(23) % = (350)/(23) %
≈ 15.2 % (to nearest tenth)
