Mrs. Kwan is packaging apples in paper

bags. She needs to package 30 red apples
and 24 green apples so that there is the same
number of apples in each bag. But she
cannot mix the different apples, and there
can be no apples left over. What is the
greatest number of apples she can package
In each bag?

If 1/4 of the box is green apples, then 3/4 of the box is red apples. Thus, 3 times the number of green apples is equal to the number of red apples, which would give 3 * 5 = 15 red apples.
