area = 1/2 * base * height = 1/2 b h
b = h - 1 so:-
36 = 1/2 * h * (h - 1)
h(h - 1) = 72
h^2 - h - 72 = 0
(h - 9)(h + 8)
so h = 9 or -8 ( height cannot be negative so h = 9
Answer is 9 meters
