For a game, Tony has a rectangle drawn on a piece of paper that has an area of 18 in.2. What should he do to the dimensions in order to have a similar rectangle that's area is only 2 in.2?

Answer:

Area of Original rectangle = 18 in²→→Pre image

Area of Rectangle after Dilation =2 in²→→Image

As, Pre image and image will be similar to each other.

And size of rectangle that is image is
(2)/(18)=(1)/(9) of the Original rectangle called Pre image.

So, option A, Divide the area of original rectangle by 9, that is dilation factor of
(1)/(9) has taken place.

Divide them by nine.
