In 30 minutes, 250 gallons are filled in the swimming pool. In the same rate in 1 hours (which means 60 minutes), 500 gallons will be filled.

Let x be the number of hours it will take to fill the entire swimming pool which has the capacity of 25,000 gallons.

We need to set up a proportion like given below:

(Number \; of \; Hours )/(Amount \; of\; water \; in\; gallons) =(x)/(25,000) =(1)/(500)

Solving the equation for x:

(x)/(25000) =(1)/(500) \\ Multiply \; 25000\; on\; both\; sides\; of\; the \; equation\\ \\ 25000 * (x)/(25000) =(1)/(500) * 25000\\ Simplify \; on \; both \; sides\\ \\ x \; = \; (25000)/(500) \; = 50 \; hours

Conclusion:

The number of hours that will take to fill the pool is 50 hours !
