My dearest Mother,
I hope this letter reaches you well. I believed New York City would be a world with so much heart and opportunities for me. With so many immigrants coming into the city each day it is very crowded and disturbing. I have managed to find myself a job in a local factory call the Arrow Coller Company. I am hoping to save enough money to have you come and visit soon.
I would like you not to worry about me as I am doing well now. I have sustained lodging at a local inn and share a room with a very nice couple from the brittish isles. It is difficult to understand them as their accent is not like ours.
I will write soon.
Yours Truly
Johnny
