In "Beyond Vietnam" by Martin Luther King Jr., King expresses the importance of seeing things from the enemies point of view because we can learn about our past transgressions, see how we are viewed by them, discover our weaknesses, and "profit from the wisdom of the brothers who are called the opposition".
