Knowing that the Ancient Greeks engaged in rituals to appease the gods, we understand that

A. the Greeks believed the divinities were isolated from mortals and rarely
affected their lives.
B. the Greeks enjoyed watching the divinities live out their own dramas and comedies.
C. the Greeks thought the gods were directly involved in mortal affairs, and
wanted to keep them as happy as possible.
D. the Greeks despised and feared the divinities who controlled them.

I'm thinking that C. is the answer. The Ancient Greeks believed in Polytheism, or the worship and belief in multiple Gods. They used the Gods to explain natural but explainable occurrences such as disease or drought. they feared that if they did not appease the Gods, that they would bring death upon them. I hope this helps :)
