Vygotsky's theory of the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) asserts that children can master some tasks with the help of others. The ZPD theory discusses the differences between what learners are able and not able to do without help from other sources. Just like Piaget, Vygotsky argues that children are better self-learners who learn independently.
