In sports, calling a player of color a derogatory name, participating in racist chanting during a sporting event, and writing racist graffiti in a team's locker room are all forms of overt racism. Overt racism is definfed as more blatant disrespect to another individual. The people who are using overt racism are doing it purposefully in hopes to look and act inferior to other ethinic or cutural groups.

All of the scenarios described above demonstrate Overt racism. This form of racism is demonstrated when a person belonging to a particular race believes that he is superior to the other person who belonged to a different race, thus making them feel entitled to hurt and belittle the person because of their skin color and race.People nowadays are standing up against all forms of racism and discrimination and supporting groups and causes fighting for equality.
