Introduce new information
A conclusion should conclude, or wrap up, the essay. An effective conclusion reminds the reader of the main points by summarizing and leaves the reader with something to take away. This could be an image or some type of task the reader should do. The conclusion should not introduce new information. One of the reasons why is it can confuse the reader. The new information would not be developed enough to help prove the author's point so it would be useless and distracting.
