You might wonder why, if the doctor was so worried about pulmonary hypertension in this client, she did not just measure it. the answer is simple - where would she have put the blood pressure cuff? she could hardly open the patient's chest to put a cuff around one of his pulmonary arteries.

Pulmunary hypertension occur when the arteries in the lungs is constricted resuting in an increased in resistance. This can be measured by an invasive procedure called cardiac catheterization. This condition can lead to heart failure.
