Answer:

Let A = (5, -1) (x1, y1)

Let B = (10, -1) (x2, y2)

Length AB =

= \sqrt{ {(x2 - x1)}^(2) + {(y2 - y1)}^(2) }

= \sqrt{ {(10 - 5)}^(2) + {( - 1 + ( - 1))}^(2) }

\\ = \sqrt{ {(5)}^(2) + {( - 2)}^(2) }

= √25 - 4

= √21

the two points have the same y value, so it is a horizontal line. Between 5 and 10, the distance is 5.
