In pedegree charts,
a square stands for a male
a circle, female
black filled: phenotype expressed
half filled, heterozygous, hence carriers.

So according to the pedigree diagram, two of the four offsprings (both daughters) are heterozygous, or carriers, of sickle cell anemia.
