The philosopher Socrates was condemned to death for impiety. He was executed via Hemlock Poisoning. Hemlock is a flowering plant, related to carrots. It is known to affect the nervous system resulting to paralysis. The paralysis includes the paralysis of respiratory muscles which will impede respiration and result in death. The most potent part of the plant is the seeds and roots.
