The government tried to help out by making relief acts that helped the people out. at first, the government just did not help and they followed the hoover act which was entrusted to be an act that was made to just try and let the government fix its self by just leaving it alone. Yet you can not just leave the government alone and expect it to fix its self. they had to take action.

The correct answers are A) it provided loans to struggling business and C) it added jobs to build dams in public buildings.

The federal government finally tried to help stem the tide of the Great Depression by providing loans to struggling business and adding jobs to build dams in public buildings.

Franklin D. Roosevelt became the United States President in 1933 and immediately focused on having ways to help the citizens to overcome the problems of the Great Depression. He created the "New Deal," a series of programs aimed to help the people and reestablish the poor economic conditions of the country. Among the most important programs were the Civil Works Administration (CWA), the Works Progress Administration (WPA), the Farm Security Administration or the Social Security Administration (SSA).
