It is most likely B although C could also be a good option but the main idea is spread through-out the paper and a topic sentence introduces what the current paragraph would be talking about.

I believe the correct answer is "B. A topic sentence is the central idea of a paragraph, while a main idea is the central idea of an entire text."

A main idea is usually the thesis of the writing piece that addresses the question/prompt and branches over everything that you write. The topic sentences usually branch off of the main idea or thesis and indicate the topics you are discussing in each individual paragraph/section.
