For this case what we can do is the following rule of three.
5 pound ---> 12.50 $
x ------------> 7.50 $
Clearing x we have:
x = (7.50 / 12.50) * (5)
x = 3 pounds
Answer:
the weight of the package is:
x = 3 pounds
