There are no choices for this question, but the correct answer would be to re-write the exact same phrase only putting a parentheses around 3×12 instead. The associative property says that you can group your multiplication problem in any order it without changing the value. If we are only applying The associative property then the order it is written in would remain the same. Only the grouping would change.
