Тhe third angle of the triangle = 90 - 60 = 30°

In a 30-60-90 triangle the side opposite the 30 degree angle is half the length of the hypotenuse, therefore
y = (8 √(3) )/(2)=4 √(3)


x=8 √(3) \cdot \cos30^o =8 √(3) \cdot { ( √(3) )/(2) } =12

The answer is x = 12, y = 4√3
