When we look at coordinate grids, the x value runs horizontally. The y value runs vertically. A coordinate point is written as (x,y). We can use this information to help us solve problems 1 - 4 .
1. The Birch tree (point B) is located at point (2,3).
2. The x coordinate for the Cedar tree (point C) is (5).
3. The Aspen tree (point A) and the Duck Oak tree (point D) both have the same y coordinate of (7).
4. The Birch tree (point B) is located closest to point (1,4).
