Total number of boots sold = 44

Explanation:

Ratio of football, rugby and hiking boots sold = 6 : 2 : 3

24 pairs of football boots were sold.

That is

6 n = 24

n = 4.

Number of rugby boots sold = 2 n = 2 x 4 = 8

Number of hiking boots sold = 3 n = 3 x 4 = 12

Total number of boots sold = 6n + 2n + 3n = 11n = 11 x 4 = 44

Total number of boots sold = 44
