1. Windward side: this is the side of the mountain that faces the prevailing wind.
2. Leeward side: this is the side of the mountain that is sheltered from the wind by the mountain's elevation.

Answer:

The mountains are usually defined as the huge landforms that are created due to the compressive force as well as due to the uprising of magma. These are high elevated mountains with steep slopes. These are large geological features.

There are two sides of a mountain, commonly known as the windward side and the lee side. The side from which the wind originates and blows is the windward side. There occurs maximum rainfall in the windward side.

On the other hand, the side to which the dry wind after precipitation moves is the lee side. This is the dry side as there occurs little or no rainfall.
