What value of x makes the denominator of the function equal zero? y = 6/4x-40

As writtten, x is in the numerator and the denominator is 4. No value of x will make it be zero.

Perhaps you intend
.. y = 6/(4x -40)
Then x=10 will make the denominator zero.
