y= 1.5x+8
You do rise over run
y/x = y2-y1/x2-x1
8-5 divided by 0-(-2)
3/2=1.5. That is your slope.
Then you look for the y-intercept which is (0,8) So you plug in the equation for y=mx+b and you get y=1.5x+8
