Definition of Perception:

Perception is the ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through the senses.

Importance in regard of healthcare:

A patient’s perception in healthcare is important because the patient always wants the doctor or nurse to take care of his or her health so there lies a serious impact of a mismatch in perception vs. reality when it comes to healthcare security is that people’s safety, health, and even lives are at stake. If there is a break in the perception of security, then there isn’t the experience of security, and the system essentially fails.
