Little did I know at the time that signing up for little league at the age of six would end up changing my life. After ten years of experience playing the sport and now as captain of our high school baseball team, I’ve learned what it means to work as a team, to persevere in working toward a common goal, and to play fairly. I am excited to study physical education so that I can one day coach a baseball team of my own.

From evaluating the given sample personal statement, an appropriate topic would be "Why I chose to study Physical Education".

The writer's point of view is the First person point of view. This is evidenced in the fact that the writer is writer is writing about himself/herself, uses personal examples, and primarily makes use of the pronoun “I.”
