Given that:

3^2 * 3^n = 3^20
Solving for n.
Divide both sides by 3²

(3^2 * 3^n)/(3^2) = (3^(20))/(3^2)
Simplify

3^n= 3^(20-2) \\ 3^n=3^(18) \\

if \ a^(f(x))=a^(g(x)) , \ then \ f(x)=g(x)
So, n=18

Answer: n=18
