1km = 1000m
1m = 100m
1000m = 1000 x 100cm
1000m = 100 000cm
1cm = 10 mm
100 000 cm = 100 000 mm x 10mm
100 000 cm = 1000 000 mm
therefore
1km = 1000 000mm
