Great Britain--the empire of Great Britain stretched all hemispheres.
Great Britain was able to create colonies in Asia, Africa, Australia, South America, and North America. Historians have stated "the sun never set" on the British Empire. Many political cartoons represented the scope of Britain's power and the ability of the British government to control vast lands all around the world. Great Britain was the model for imperial power that many other countries strove to be like especially the United States and Japan who both modeled their modernization efforts on Great Britain.
