A bucket of coal has a mass of 8 kg. After burning, the mass of the ash is 3 kg. Explain what may have happened to the other 5 kg of mass?

Answer:

what happened was that when the coal was passed from the fire over time, the coal burnt to ashes. And the mass of normal coal is more than the mass of the burnt coal
