The triangular shaped bases of a prism are 24 cm in length and have a height of 35 cm. Each side is 37 cm. The height of the prism is 29 cm. What is the surface area of the triangular prism? A) 2192 cm2 B) 2312 cm2 C) 3220 cm2 D) 3682 cm2

The answer is D. To get this answer I created a net of the prism to show all five faces and the areas of each. There are 2 congruent triangles, 2 congruent rectangles, and one other rectangle that you will find the area of. The areas of the triangles are 420 square cm each, the two congruent rectangles have areas of 1073 square cm, and the other rectangle's area is 696 square cm. I have attached a picture so you can see these areas clearly.
