The Social Gospel movement of the early 1900's focused on helping the economic, moral, and social elements of American society. This movement was sparked by the rapid growth of industrialization in the US, which in part lead to poor living/working conditions for factory workers. To help these people in American society, the Social Gospel ,movement called for the creation of certain institutions to help the poor.
A perfect example of this would be the creation of the Salvation Army. This organization, that still exists today, helps by providing meals and shelter for those individuals who need it. The YMCA is also a result of the Social Gospel movement, as this became an avenue for families to help them with resources and gave them a place to build a sense of community with their neighbors.
