Two angles are supplementary if their sum is 180 the larger angle measures four degrees more than three times the measure of a smaller angle if x represents the measure of the smaller angle and these two angles are supplementary find the measure of each angle

Let
x--------> the measure of the smaller angle
y--------> the measure of the larger angle

we know that
x+y=180-------> y=180--x ------> equation 1
y=4+3x------> equation 2

we equate equation 1 and equation 2
180-x=4+3x-----> 3x+x=180-4-------> 4x=176--------> x=44
°
y=4+3x----> y=4+3*44-----> y=136
°

the answer is
the smaller angle is 44° and the larger angle is 136°
