The thickness of the deep dish can be evaluated by converting
10^-^1 to a decimal.
10^-^1= (1)/(10)=0.1. We multiply 2(0.1) and get 0.2 feet for the thickness of the deep dish pizza.
The thickness of the thin crust can be evaluated in a similar way.
10^-^2=0.01. 5(0.01) = 0.05 ft for the thin crust pizza.
We don't know how many times bigger the deep dish is, so that is our variable. That gives us:

0.05x=0.2 (the thickness of the thin crust multiplied by an unknown factor equals the deep dish)
Divide both sides by 0.05:
\frac {0.05x}{0.05}= (0.2)/(0.05) \\ x=4
The deep dish is 4 times bigger than the thin crust, which means the thin crust is 4 times smaller than the deep dish.
