For this case we have that the perimeter by definition is:
P = 2 * pi * r
For small silver dollar pancakes:
2 * pi * r = 2 * pi
Thus:
r = 1
For a regular pancake
2 * pi * r = 4 * pi
Thus:
r = 2
The area of both will be:
For small silver dollar pancakes:
A1 = pi * r1 ^ 2
A1 = pi * (1) ^ 2
A1 = pi
For a regular pancake
A1 = pi * r2 ^ 2
A1 = pi * (2) ^ 2
A1 = 4pi
Answer:
the area of the regular pancake is not twice the area of the silver dollar pancakes
