THis happened right before WWII. Hitler had already annexed Austria with no major obstacles and thus he thought he could expand his country to the east, Sudetenland. The French and British (Chamberlain) leaders continued to uphold the appeasement strategy and gave way to Hitler's demand. Nonetheless, It was promised that this would be his last annexation or demand for further land. Hence, the correct answer is d. All other were legit choices that the leadership did not pursue because they did not want to go to war (especially since only 20 years had passed from WWI).

The answer of the question above is:

D. They allowed these moves as long as Hitler promised to go no further.

Step-by-step explanation:

Adolf Hitler threatened the French and British Government that if they don’t give the Sudetenland to him, he will be taking it by force. And in order to avoid war, the French and British Government willingly negotiated with Hitler
