Why were some Americans against Vietnamization?

Americans believed it was not their place to meddle in a situation in Vietnam. They also didn't want to become involved since they had just finished fighting Germany and Japan in World War II. When the war began, Americans were initially opposed to it because of the draft, which required males of a particular age to serve in the military.

Americans thought it was none of their business to interfere in a matter in Vietnam. They also didn't want to get involved because they had just fought World War II against Germany and Japan. Eventually when the war started Americans were against it because of the draft which forced men between certain ages to go to war.
