Let's assume the number be 'x'.

Four more than three times a number would be written as '3x+4'.

'3x+4' is less than or equal to twenty two. Mathematically, we can write it as :-

3x + 4 ≤ 22

Solving the above inequality :-

Step 1: subtracting 4 on both sides

3x + 4 - 4 ≤ 22 - 4

3x ≤ 18

Step 2: Dividing by 3 on both sides

Hence, x ≤ 6 is the solution to the inequality 3x + 4 ≤ 22.
