The order of importance is:

  • 1.d
  • 2.b
  • 3.a
  • 4.c

The Sassanian social order was extremely complex and rigid, with separated organization systems governing numerous groups throughout the empire. Historians consider that society was divided into four classes:

  1. Priests (Atorbanan)
  2. Warriors (Arteshtaran)
  3. Secretaries (Debiran)
  4. Commoners and peasants (Vasteryoshan-Hootkheshan)

At the center of the Sassanian caste system was the Shahanshah, the king and emperor. Belong to a class was determined by birth and the role of the king was to assure that every class was kept within its limits, meaning that the strong don't oppress the weak and the weak don't try to overthrow the strong. Keeping that social balance was the essence of the king's justice.
