The correct answer is
5,000 to 6,000.
Following the conclusion of World War II, people had to pay for their crimes they committed during the War. Obviously, Germans were the ones who had to pay the highest price given that their crimes against other people (especially Jews) were the most horrendous. Between 5,000 and 6,000 Nazis were convicted for their war crimes during the first four years after WWII.
