In “The First Seven Years” by Bernard Malamud, Feld’s epiphany made him realize that Miriam, his daughter, should get married with someone she loves however, he also realizes that nineteen years old is too young for his daughter to marry, so he agree for them two, Miriam and Sobel, to get married but Sobel must wait another two years before that.
